In our country, cranberries are generally found in wild forms in the Black Sea, Marmara, Aegean and Mediterranean Regions in the mountainous areas in the coastal and high parts, and in single or in groups. There are limited amount of grafted cranberries in Malatya, Bursa, Yalova, Karabük and Istanbul. 

Cranberries are used in different ways in us and in other countries. Cranberry jam, marmalade, fruit juice is produced. Tea and coffee are made from beans and leaves. Essential oil from fresh shells and drugs against dysentery disease is prepared. In the food industry, it is used as a fresh, dry and table-wide variety of processing, flavoring in food, making its dried fruits compotes. Sugar is poured on fruits and stored for a long time. Very nice dessert, made from canned syrup.  

The tree is very tight, hard and heavy. The essence of the tree is yellow-red and suitable for polishing white and pink wood. Chair, textile shuttles are made of cranberries. Shuttles are made in the weaving industry. Mill gears are made of cranberries. Handicrafts such as chip-bauble are used in the production of office equipment. The famous Devrek canes are made of cranberry wood. Since cranberry trees bloom early, it is very important for beekeeping. It is preferred because it is very resistant to cold in addition to its decorative feature in garden arrangement. In some countries it is used to form a belt against erosion.
