Sardinia (Turnagagasıgiller) family. 60 cm. perennial plants that can grow as long as ever, but are very sensitive to cold and especially frost. Round-shaped, green-colored and abundant hairy bodies gradually become woody. Deeply recessed, needle-like ornate leaves are crushed, releasing fruit, mint or other pleasantly smelling odors. Light or dark pink or white light fragrant flowers bloom from summer to autumn. Pelargonium species grown in all kinds of soil provided that it is abundant sunshine, propagated by seed or stem steel. Although their homeland is South Africa, they have adapted very well to the Mediterranean basin countries. In Turkey, various pelargonium species are very common in the Aegean and Mediterranean regions as ornamental plants.
