MENTHOL CRYSTAL

Menthol is a member of the Peppermint family. It is naturally derived from wild mint and mint leaves. Particularly, the oil obtained from the leaves of Mentha arvensis plant is separated by steam distillation method and menthol agent is obtained from it. The resulting menthol is then poured into large molds and frozen. Frozen menthol molds, which are kept for about 20 days, are broken by a special method and turned into menthol crystals .

MEDICAL AND COSMETICS: Analgesic, Anesthetic, Antibacterial, Revitalizing, Soothing, Refreshment, Feeling cold, Accelerating blood circulation and fullness properties are used.

It is used in many different products (especially dental products such as chewing gum, cough syrups and candies such as peppermint), as well as non-prescription products for short-term treatment of mild sore throat and mild oral and throat irritations.

It is classified as an antipruritic that reduces itching. It is also included in products that are used as a treatment for muscle pain, sprains and similar conditions. Menthol is also the most common natural herbal product among the products used for oral cleaning.

It is used in confectionery production and gives a feeling of freshness when consumed.Menthol is also found in toothpastes and mouthwashes, and it is known that menthol is used in syrup and some formulations.

Cold: Menthol use is seen in various ailments related to cold, flu and cold. It is predominantly found in syrups. Also, melt-in-the-mouth tablets called "lozenges" contain menthol in their core. Apart from cold and flu, it is also good for throat irritation.

Headache: Centuries ago, physicians known as "healers" prepared medicines with various herbs they collected from nature and used these medicines in the treatment of their patients. It is known that menthol has been used in the treatment of headaches for many years, especially in the Far East culture, which is specialized in this field. In addition, menthol is given to people who have diarrhea and nausea. Menthol use is also recommended in order to reduce menstrual pain in women.

Burns and muscle pains: In burns, creams and ointments applied to the burnt area contain menthol at the core. This is why ointments leave a burning sensation on the skin. Creams used in dents and muscle pains give a burning sensation, because menthol penetrating the skin starts to stimulate the heat receptors in the skin over time.
