The essential oil of Buddha wood comes from the Eremophila mitchellii tree, native to Australian shrubs. This tree is more of a shrub than an actual tree and definitely likes the desert climate. Also called “Australian desert rosewood”. It can grow up to 10 meters. Buddha wood essential oil is steam distilled from the bark and heartwood of the tree. The resulting oil is dark amber and has a rich, firm, resinous, woody and slightly smoky aroma. Although its scent appears to be quite intense, it is often used in perfumes that are not of high strength. Yoga instructors often use Buddha Wood at the beginning or end of a class to reduce stress. Its woody and slightly smoky aroma blends with deep, exotic and romantic subtones. Essential oil is a dark red-brown color.
