Rose oil, which is one of the most important raw materials of perfumery and cosmetics sector, is produced by steam distillation from pink rose oils. There are two main types of roses collected for essential oils: rosa damascena, called Bulgaristan damask rose bulunan, mainly found in Bulgaria and the Middle East; and rosa centifolia, popularly known as "cabbage rose" found in Morocco, Egypt and France.

The most wanted rose essential oil in the world is Bulgarian rosa damascena. This special rose type is one of the most valuable essential oils in the world with its unique rich chemical composition and deep multi-layered scent. For more than 300 years, it has been grown around the city of Kazanlak in Bulgaria. Although the roses are unique to many parts of the Middle East, the surroundings of Kazanlak were considered to be better than other geographical locations for rose fields. This area is known as Rozova dolina or “Rose Valley üreten, which produces almost half of the world's rose oil. Since September 2014, the Rose Valley is considered a Protected Geographical Indicator according to the European Commission.

Isparta is the first thing that comes to mind in our country. A large proportion of the country's rose cultivation is provided here and these roses are used in foreign trade.
