Okra is a perennial plant that grows in warm climates from the family of hibiscus. Okra grows in hot climates, frost-resistant, one-year in temperate climates of the hibiscus family, tropical climates can be perennial plant species. It is known that Ethiopia and Sudan, whose homeland is Africa, have been cultivated since ancient times. Okra fruit leaves of vine leaves, 5-compartment, round-seed, greenish-gray color and edible features. Cultivation, weed cleaning and harvesting do not require much labor. As they grow almost dehydrated on very unproductive soils, they are often raised in narrow areas by crowded families.

The most important feature that limits the production of okra is the feathers on the stem, side branches, fruits and leaves that cause itching during contact. These feathers are known to penetrate even the gloves used during harvesting.
