Calophyllum is a large evergreen plant called inophyllum, often called tamanu, mastwood, beach calophyllum, beautyleaf or Sinhala. It is native to Tropical Asia and Wallacea. It is a tropical tree that grows in Southeast Asia. Its scientific name is oph Calophyllum inophyllum ”. It grows up to three meters and blossoms twice a year. The seeds of the small yellow fruits also have a rich oil. This oil is obtained by cold pressing method. They are dried under the sun in a moisture-free environment for 1-2 months before obtaining oil. An average of 100 kg of Tamanu fruit is obtained from a tree, while only 5 kg of oil is obtained. For this reason, it is more expensive than other oils. Tamanu oil has a very dark green color, has a rich and deep smell, and its color is very dark.
